Dead outlets, loose plugs, switches that crackle. We fix them every week in Skokie and up the North Shore, and no job is too small to call about.
An outlet that quit working is easy to ignore. You plug the lamp in somewhere else and move on. But in the older homes around here, a dead or loose outlet is often the first sign of a worn connection behind the wall, and that is worth twenty minutes of an electrician's time.
Peak Property Electric is a small family crew out of Skokie. Johnny and the guys have spent 18+ years working on the outlets, switches, and old ungrounded wiring in this area's 1920s-1970s houses. We show up in uniform, fix what you called about, and give your panel and visible wiring a free once-over while we're there. If we spot something unsafe, you get photos, not a lecture.
Need one GFCI swapped in the bathroom? Call. Small jobs are how most of our customers found us.
Every service call includes a quick look at your panel and visible wiring — no charge, no pressure. Most of the hazards we find (Federal Pacific breakers, double-tapped circuits, overheated connections) turn up during a small job like this one. If we see something, we'll show you a photo of it and explain your options. Learn more about our safety inspections and panel upgrades.
Same process as every job we do. You call (773) 987-7677, we ask a few questions, and you get a free estimate. On the day of the work we test the circuit, make the fix, and check our work with a tester before we pack up. Before we leave, we look over your panel and visible wiring at no charge, because a bad outlet sometimes points to a bigger problem, and in this area that problem is often an old Federal Pacific panel or fuse box.
It depends on a few things. How many outlets or switches we're replacing, since doing five at once costs far less per device than five separate trips. Whether the wiring behind the box is grounded, because two-prong upgrades in older homes sometimes need a ground path added. And the type of device, since a GFCI or smart dimmer costs more than a standard outlet.
What you'll never get from us is a surprise. You get a free written quote before any work starts, and the price we quote is the price you pay. If we open a box and find something worse, we stop, show you photos, and let you decide.
“I needed to have a switch fixed for my garage and got an appointment the next day. Johnny came out and quickly figured out the issue. Great service, honest feedback, and fair pricing. I will definitel”
